Questions about this item

What waterproof standard does the triple-layer base meet in practice?

The triple-layer base of XPS foam, cement mortar and waterproof coating provides 100% sealing but must be used with additional waterproofing materials, not on its own.

What rough opening does the 16 x 24 inch niche need to fit?

The niche measures 4 x 16 x 24 inches externally, so the stud cavity must accommodate those dimensions plus any framing and membrane thickness.

How is the niche secured and which step is often missed?

Use the ten supplied M5 countersunk screws with stainless steel claw washers to fasten through the flange; the step often missed is applying compatible waterproofing over the installed niche before tiling.
