Extreme 5A Nylon Tip Hickory Drumsticks

The Vic Firth Extreme 5A sticks are crafted from select hickory for drummers who want extended reach and a pronounced, resonant sound. The dense wood minimises flex while withstanding heavy shock, making the pair reliable for frequent, high-volume playing. The nylon tips add durability and produce a clear, crisp articulation on drums and cymbals alike.

Sustained playing durability

Select hickory absorbs repeated impact without losing its shape, so the sticks maintain consistent response through long rehearsals or gigs. The deeply back-cut nylon tips continue to deliver bright cymbal definition even after extended use, resisting the chipping that can dull wooden tips over time. This construction keeps the sound predictable from the first bar to the last.

Installation and common issues

Simply pick up the matched pair and play; no setup or adjustment is required. The only typical concern is gradual tip wear on extremely abrasive cymbal surfaces, which can eventually affect articulation. Drummers who prefer the warmer feel of wood on drumheads may find the nylon tip sound brighter than expected.
