Fixed ceiling adaptor for projectors and displays

The Video Mount Products SCM1 is a suspended ceiling adaptor rated for projectors, flat panels or CCTV monitors weighing up to 75 lb. It mounts directly to the ceiling grid and accepts standard 1.5 NPT pipe or VMP ceiling masts for a rigid drop.

Hardware and tie wire simplify the drop

The package includes all installation hardware plus 20 feet of tie wire, so the installer can secure the adaptor to the building structure without sourcing extra fasteners. Powder-coated steel construction resists corrosion in plenum spaces.

Straightforward grid installation with wire backup

The adaptor fits standard suspended-ceiling grids and bolts up with the supplied hardware; the tie wire provides a secondary attachment point that satisfies most code requirements. Ensure the ceiling grid can carry the 75 lb load before mounting.

Questions about this item

Does the powder-coated steel construction or the 20-foot tie wire need periodic inspection or replacement?

The steel adaptor is powder-coated for corrosion resistance; the included 20-foot tie wire should be checked during routine ceiling-tile inspections and replaced if any kinks or fraying appear.

What stops me from exceeding the 75 lb load rating during continuous use?

The adaptor is rated for a maximum 75 lb load; exceeding this limit risks structural failure of the steel bracket or the suspended ceiling grid.

Does the silver powder-coated finish affect heat dissipation when a projector runs all day?

The adaptor is a passive steel bracket with no active cooling; heat dissipation depends entirely on the mounted device and the airflow within the ceiling plenum.
