The Viega 77058 is a copper press-fit fitting designed for potable-water systems. It connects a 1 in copper tube on the press side to a 1 in copper tube on the FTG side at a 45-degree angle. The EPDM O-ring provides the seal without solder or flux. It meets ASTM B75 and ASTM B88 standards for copper tube.

Press-tool installation

A compatible ProPress tool and the correct 1 in jaw are required to complete the joint. The tube must be cut square, deburred and marked to the full insertion depth before pressing. An incomplete press or a misaligned jaw leaves a leak path that will show up at test pressure. Debris on the O-ring seat can also prevent a proper seal.

Rated for 200 psi and 250 °F in potable water only

The fitting is listed for a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi and a maximum operating temperature of 250 °F. It is not rated for gas, compressed air or hydronic systems that exceed those limits. The copper material and EPDM seal constrain use to compatible fluids and temperatures within the stated range.
