1" Bronze Spring Check Valve
The Viega 79045 is a 1-inch press-to-press check valve built from low-lead bronze with an inline spring mechanism. It handles water pressures up to 200 psi at 200 °F and carries an EPDM seal rated from 0 °F to 200 °F. The valve cracks open at .5 psi and mounts in horizontal or vertical runs. Steam service is not rated for this model.
Plumbing systems needing low-crack-pressure
Installers working on potable-water or hydronic loops that require a .5 psi cracking pressure and press connections will find this valve a direct fit. It is not suited for steam lines, for applications demanding full-flow capacity, or for systems that exceed the 200 psi pressure rating at temperature.
0.5 psi cracking pressure
The spring opens at .5 psi, so the valve begins to pass flow with very little head pressure. If the design calls for a higher cracking pressure or a different seat material, this valve will not meet the specification.

Questions about this item
Does the Viega 79045 spring check valve generate any noise or heat during continuous operation?
The valve has no moving parts beyond the stainless-steel spring, so it runs silently and produces no measurable heat while water flows through it.
What press tool and jaw size are required to install the 1" press connections on this valve?
A compatible press tool with a 1-inch press jaw is needed to seat the Press x Press ends onto copper or stainless tubing.
Will the EPDM seals on this valve withstand the higher temperatures found in older hydronic heating loops?
The EPDM seals are rated up to 200 Degrees F, matching typical hydronic supply temperatures, so they remain reliable in legacy systems.
