ProPress 2915.2 copper reducer
The Viega ProPress 2915.2 is a straight reducing connector made from copper with EPDM O-rings. It joins 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch copper tube sizes using press-fit connections on both ends. The fitting suits potable water installations where a secure, flame-free joint is required. Its overall length is 2 1/2 inches.
Press-fit installation advantage
The press-fit design removes the need for soldering, flux or open flame during assembly. This reduces fire risk on site and shortens the time needed to complete each joint. The integrated EPDM O-rings provide the seal once the fitting is pressed with a compatible tool. No additional sealing compounds are necessary.
Pressure and temperature headroom
The coupling is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi and a maximum operating temperature of 250 degrees F. These limits cover typical hot and cold potable water distribution in residential and light commercial systems. Installations that exceed either value will require a different fitting class.

Questions about this item
Will the EPDM O-ring need periodic replacement on the 2915.2?
The EPDM O-ring is designed for the fitting's service life; replacement is only required if visual inspection reveals damage or leakage.
What is the first limit reached under continuous high-temperature water flow?
The maximum operating temperature of 250 Degrees F will be reached before the 200 psi pressure rating under sustained hot-water use.
Does the copper body radiate noticeable heat when the system runs all day at 250 Degrees F?
Copper conducts heat efficiently, so the fitting surface will approach water temperature; insulation is recommended for personnel protection.
