Viking CTG-1A clock controlled tone generator video accessory

Clock-controlled tone generator

The Viking CTG-1A is a clock-controlled tone generator designed for audio and video accessory systems. It provides accurate 24 hour digital time display synced to AC power with a four day clock backup. The unit includes a user programmable 24 hour timer supporting 128 events across two separate schedules. It is suited for installations requiring scheduled alert tones and relay control.

128-event programmable timer

The single specification that decides suitability is the 128-event programmable timer with two separate schedules. Users can configure single, double or triple alert tones with selectable bong or buzzer outputs. Three contact closure controlled sounds are available: emergency siren yelp, temporal slow whoop evacuation signal compliant with NFPA/ANSI when used with supporting equipment, and doorbell chime. Volume controllable 600 ohm line level audio output and two sets of DPDT relay contacts handle muting and timed relay events.

Facilities needing scheduled alerts

This generator suits facilities that need scheduled alert tones, evacuation signals and relay control for paging or background music muting. It supports switchable 50/60 Hz operation and includes a Daylight Saving Time switch. Buyers who require wireless connectivity, network integration or more than 128 timer events should look at alternative solutions. The nonvolatile memory retains settings during power interruptions.
