Purpose and audience

The Viking VK-PA-30 is a 30 watt telecom paging amplifier designed for commercial telephone systems. It serves businesses that need loud ringing, overhead paging and background music distribution across multiple zones.

Upgrade scope

This unit replaces a basic ringer or low-power paging adapter when coverage must reach up to 30 eight-ohm speakers or 50 70V speakers. The jump is worth it when a single trunk or paging port must drive both loud ringer tones and background music with independent volume control.

Installation notes

Wiring connects to screw terminals for speaker loops, 600 ohm output, auxiliary input and trunk or paging port. Common issues include exceeding the speaker count limits, mismatching 8 ohm and 70V loads on the same run, and forgetting to set the night-transfer switch for after-hours ringing.
