Replacement shell case and button pad for Lincoln Mercury remotes with part number CWTWB1U793, electronics not included
This Viper shell case and button pad replaces a damaged or worn housing for part numbers CWTWB1U793 and 1788A-FWB1U793. The three-button layout matches the original remote exactly. No internal electronics or battery are included, so the existing circuit board transfers directly. Re-programming is not required after the swap.
The case measures 3.0988 cm by 11.4046 cm by 19.4056 cm and is moulded for a vehicle-specific fit. The plastic construction resists everyday wear while keeping the remote light. Button actuation feels identical to the factory unit because the pad aligns with the original switch positions.
This part suits drivers who need to refresh a Lincoln or Mercury key fob without dealer programming. It does not help if the remote electronics have failed or if a completely new transmitter is required. Buyers needing a full key fob with circuitry should look elsewhere.

Open the original remote, transfer the circuit board and battery into the new shell, then snap the case halves together; the step often missed is ensuring the button pad sits flush over each switch before closing.
The plastic shell and button pad may wear or crack over time; replace the shell case if buttons become sticky or the case no longer closes securely.
Repeated pressing and pocket abrasion will wear the button pad texture and hinge area before the shell itself fails.
