What the VT2500 Dock Delivers

The VisionTek VT2500 is a USB-C docking station that adds three video outputs, four USB ports, card readers and wired networking through a single cable. It targets Windows and Mac laptop users who need a permanent desk setup with multiple monitors and wired peripherals. The dock ships with a 1-metre USB-C cable and an 85W power adapter for laptop charging.

Accessories That Change Daily Use

The included 85W USB-C power adapter powers the dock and charges the host laptop simultaneously, removing the need for the original charger on the desk. The same adapter can charge the laptop independently when the dock is disconnected. An SD slot and a microSD slot give direct access to camera or drone media without extra dongles. A gigabit Ethernet port replaces unreliable Wi-Fi for large transfers or video calls.

Build and Connections at the Desk

The unit weighs 2.0000 and uses a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 upstream link that also works with Thunderbolt 3 hosts. Three video ports — two DisplayPort and one HDMI — enable triple-display MST configurations on Windows; Mac systems mirror or extend to one external screen only. Four downstream USB ports keep keyboards, mice, drives and phones connected permanently, reducing cable plugging cycles on the laptop itself.

Questions about this item

Will the VT2500's cooling fan need cleaning or replacement after extended daily use?

The VT2500 has no fan and uses passive cooling, so no fan maintenance is required.

What limits sustained triple-display operation on the VT2500?

Sustained triple-display use is limited by the 85W power delivery ceiling and the 5Gbps USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 bandwidth shared across video and data.

How much heat and power draw should I expect from the VT2500 running all day with three monitors?

The VT2500 draws up to 85W to charge the laptop and runs silently with passive cooling; surface temperature stays warm but within normal operating range for a desktop dock.
