The Vivitar VIV-FK3-52 is a 52mm three-piece filter set designed for photographers using Canon, Nikon, Sony or other digital SLR cameras. It supplies a UV, a CPL and an FLD filter in a single package. The kit suits shooters who want basic lens protection and creative control over reflections or fluorescent lighting without buying filters individually.

Practical Limits of 52mm Thread

The filters only fit lenses with a 52mm front thread; they will not mount on larger or smaller diameters without separate step rings. The multi-coated glass reduces flare but adds two air-glass surfaces per filter, which can slightly increase ghosting in strong backlight. The FLD filter corrects green cast from fluorescent tubes but does not balance mixed lighting or LED sources.

Installation and Common Issues

Each filter screws directly onto the lens threads; the included wallet stores all three when not in use. Over-tightening can bind the thin rings, making removal difficult — tighten only until snug. Stacking the UV with the CPL or FLD increases vignetting risk on wide-angle lenses, so use one filter at a time. Clean with a blower and microfibre cloth to avoid scratching the coatings.
