Portable USB ceiling fan for off-grid cooling

This 5 V DC brushless fan draws 5 W from any USB-A port that can supply 2 A or more. The 44-inch blade span and five detachable blades provide adjustable airflow for tents, RV ceilings, tarps or dormitory beds. Button and remote controls let you change speed without leaving your seat. The 170 cm cord reaches most power banks or vehicle sockets.

Replaces battery clip fans and 12 V RV ceiling units

Swapping a clip fan for this hanging model frees up surface space and directs air downward across a sleeping area. The upgrade is worth it when you have a reliable 5 V 2 A source and need quieter, softer wind than a high-speed personal fan produces. It is not for buyers who need more airflow than a 5 W motor can deliver or who lack a USB power source altogether.

Handles small enclosed spaces up to roughly 15 m²

At 5.91 inches installed height the unit fits low-clearance canopies and boat cabins while moving enough air for one to two occupants. Output drops off in larger screen houses or multi-room tents where a higher-wattage 12 V or mains fan would be required. The plastic blades and metal frame weigh little enough for backpack carry but are not built for permanent outdoor mounting.

Questions about this item

How much overhead space does the 44" blade span need to clear?

The fan body measures 14.33in wide, 12.83in high and 9.06in deep, with a 5.91in drop from the mount, so allow at least that much clearance above the blades.

What USB power source is required for the 5V 5W motor to start reliably?

Plug the 170cm cord into any USB port or power bank that can supply 5.0 volts at 2A or more; the fan begins running as soon as power is connected.

How do I clean the five silver blades on this portable ceiling fan?

The blades detach individually — remove each one, wipe with a damp cloth, then snap them back onto the hub before the next use.
