- Adds two front-panel USB 3.0 ports via 20-pin header

Front-panel USB 3.0 expansion
This cable converts a single motherboard 20-pin header into two external USB 3.0 Type-A ports for the front panel. It is designed for DIY builders who need additional high-speed connections on their chassis. The 30 cm length suits standard tower layouts and plugs directly into compatible headers. No PCI bracket is included with the adapter.
Two ports from one 20-pin header
The Y-splitter provides 19 active pins across the 20-hole connector, leaving one hole unused as noted by the supplier. It supports USB 3.0 SuperSpeed operation and remains backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices such as card readers, external drives or hubs. Bandwidth is shared between the two ports, so simultaneous heavy transfers will reduce per-port throughput. The short cable limits placement to front-panel cut-outs near the motherboard header.
20-pin header compatibility check
This adapter requires a motherboard USB 3.0 20-pin header; it will not work with older 19-pin USB 2.0 headers or internal USB-C connectors. Builders must verify their board exposes the correct keyed header before purchase. The cable is not suitable for systems lacking a front-panel USB 3.0 header or for external rear-I/O expansion.

Questions about this item
Will this 20-pin header cable work with my older motherboard that only has a 19-pin USB 3.0 connector?
The Y-shaped cable has 19 pins while the connector provides 20 holes, leaving one hole unused, so it fits both 19-pin and 20-pin motherboard headers.
How can I verify the two Type-A ports are running at USB 3.0 speed after I plug the cable into my motherboard header?
Connect a USB 3.0 device and check that the operating system reports a SuperSpeed connection; the ports are backwards compatible with USB 2.0, so a 2.0 device will still work but at the lower rate.
Does the package include the PCI bracket shown in some product photos, or do I need to buy a bracket separately?
The manufacturer notes state the PCI bracket is excluded, so only the 30 cm dual-port cable is supplied; a bracket must be sourced separately if your case requires one.
