25 ft USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable

This 25 ft USB 3.0 active extension cable connects a USB-A male plug to a USB-A female port. An integrated signal booster chip compensates for attenuation over the 7.5 m length. Gold-plated contacts and multi-layer shielding protect data integrity. It is suited for users who need to place peripherals far from the host computer.

Users needing long reach without signal loss

The cable serves setups where a printer, scanner, camera, VR headset or hub must sit 25 ft from the PC. Plug-and-play operation works on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Chrome OS with no driver installation. It is not suited for buyers who need a shorter passive cable, a USB-C connection or an outdoor-rated jacket.

5 Gbps bandwidth over 7.5 m

The active electronics maintain the full USB 3.0 5 Gbps rate across the 25 ft span, allowing rapid transfer of large files such as HD video. Backward compatibility lets USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices share the link simultaneously. The 5 V/2 A power adapter supplies the booster, so headroom depends on that external supply rather than bus power alone.

Questions about this item

What USB port must my computer already have to use this 25 ft USB 3.0 active extension cable?

Your computer needs a standard USB Type-A port that supports USB 3.0 or USB 2.0; the cable plugs directly into that port with no driver installation required.

Will this 25 ft active extension cable still work with my older USB 2.0 peripherals such as a mouse or keyboard?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, allowing simultaneous USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 data transfer through the same connection.

How can I confirm the 5 Gbps signal is stable after running the cable to its full 25 ft length?

Transfer a large HD video file between a USB 3.0 drive and your computer; a sustained high-speed copy without dropouts shows the built-in signal booster is compensating for attenuation.
