Questions about this item

Will the dual-band antennas need periodic replacement to keep the 867 Mbps 5 GHz link stable?

The 2x2 antenna connectors are built for the life of the card; no scheduled antenna swap is required for the 867 Mbps 5 GHz or 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz bands.

What thermal limit throttles the 8265 chip first during long 802.11ac transfers?

The 8265 controller reduces transmit power when its internal temperature threshold is reached, protecting the 867 Mbps 5 GHz and 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz throughput.
