What this cable does

This is a USB-C to USB-C retractable cable rated for 100W power delivery with PD3.0 and QC3.0 support. It carries data at USB 2.0 speeds up to 480 megabits per second. The built-in reel locks at four preset lengths from 36cm to 100cm so the cord stays tidy on a desk or in a bag.

Who should buy it and who should not

Travelers and desk users who want one cable that charges laptops, tablets and phones without tangles will like the adjustable length and E-Marker safety chip. Buyers who need USB 3 or faster data rates for large file transfers should look at a different cable because this model tops out at USB 2.0.

The spec that decides fit

Maximum charging power is 100W at 20V/5A, so it can fast-charge a MacBook Pro 16 inch M4 to 42 percent in 30 minutes, but the data link remains limited to 480 megabits per second.

Questions about this item

Will this 100W USB-C cable charge my older 65W MacBook Pro without issues?

Yes, the cable is backwards compatible with 65W, 45W, 30W and 20W chargers, so it will safely deliver the power your older MacBook Pro requests.

How can I verify the retractable mechanism locks at each length after I set it up?

Pull the cable gently until it clicks into one of the four preset sections — 36cm, 60cm, 82cm or 100cm — and it will stay fixed at that length until you pull again to release it.

Does the package include a USB-C power adapter or only the retractable cable itself?

Only the 3.3ft USB-C to USB-C retractable cable is included; a compatible USB-C power adapter must be purchased separately.
