M.2 SSD adapter for USB 3.1 Type-A
The Vszerda adapter connects M.2 SSDs to a USB 3.1 Type-A port. It supports both NVMe PCIe and SATA-based B+M key drives in 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. The Realtek 9210B chipset enables up to 10Gbps transfer on USB 3.1 and 5Gbps on USB 3.0. Hot-plug operation requires no drivers on Windows XP through 10.
Bare PCB with silicone pad and screw
The board measures 115 by 25 by 6 millimetres and ships without an enclosure cover. A silicone pad and screwdriver are included for securing 42, 60 or 80 millimetre drives. Direct USB-A plug-in means no cable is needed, but the exposed PCB offers no physical protection for the drive during transport or daily handling.
Replaces internal-only M.2 slots for external access
The adapter turns an internal M.2 slot into a removable USB drive, useful for data recovery, cloning or moving large files between systems. It is not suited for users who need a rugged enclosure, USB-C connectivity or hardware encryption. Builders wanting to boot from the external SSD should verify BIOS support for USB-attached NVMe.

Questions about this item
What real-world speed does the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface deliver with this adapter?
The Realtek 9210B chipset provides up to 10Gbps over USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A; if the host port is USB 3.0 the link drops to 5Gbps.
Which M.2 form factors and key types fit the onboard M-key socket?
The board accepts 2242, 2260 and 2280 modules — both PCIe NVMe M-key and SATA-based B+M-key or B-key drives.
How is the drive secured and what step is often missed?
Insert the SSD at an angle into the M-key slot, then fasten the supplied screw into the matching standoff (22, 42, 60 or 80 mm); many users forget the screw and the drive disconnects under vibration.
