NGFF M.2 Key B adapter for WWAN modules

This adapter converts a Mini PCI-E WWAN card to fit an M.2 Key B slot in a desktop or laptop. It supports full-size Mini PCI-E cards with USB interface including 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G modules. No external power is required for operation.

Optional nano-SIM push connector included

The board provides a nano-SIM card push connector as an optional feature for cellular connectivity. This allows the installed WWAN module to access mobile networks directly through the adapter. The connector is integrated onto the PCB for compact installation.

Fits 3042 and 3052 M.2 Key B slots

Installation uses the standard M.2 mounting screw on the host device. The adapter accommodates both 3042 and 3052 card lengths for flexible positioning. Builders without an M.2 Key B slot cannot use this adapter.

Questions about this item

Will the nano-SIM push connector on this adapter ever need replacement?

The nano-SIM push connector is optional and not included with the adapter, so there is no connector to maintain or replace.

What limits the sustained data rate when a 4G or 5G WWAN module is used through this adapter?

The adapter passes only the USB interface from the Mini PCI-E card to the M.2 Key B slot, so the module's USB speed is the limiting factor.

Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or draw extra power when a WWAN module runs all day?

No additional power is required and the passive design adds negligible heat during continuous operation.
