ThinkBook 14+ AMD 8845 Adapter
This adapter fits the 2022 and 2023 ThinkBook 14+ with AMD 8845 CPU. It converts the internal M.2 M-key slot into an external OCuLink SFF-8612 port. The design targets owners of that specific laptop who want to attach an external graphics card or NVMe SSD. It does not support the 16+ model or any other laptop.
Adds One SFF-8612 Port
The board provides a single SFF-8612 female connector for an optional OCuLink cable and external power supply. It passes PCIe 4.0 x4 signals using the NVMe protocol at up to 32 Gbps without altering speed or requiring drivers. Buyers who need multiple external devices or a different connector type cannot use this product.
Transparent Form Conversion
The 67-pin M.2 Key M male plug seats directly into the laptop slot, while the SFF-8612 female end accepts a standard OCuLink cable. The adapter operates transparently to the operating system and supports NVMe 1.2. Users must supply their own cable and power solution for the external device.

Questions about this item
Does the M.2 male connector on this adapter wear out after repeated insertion into the ThinkBook 14+ AMD 8845 slot?
The 67-pin M.2 Key M male connector is rated for standard insertion cycles; avoid frequent removal to maintain reliable contact with the laptop slot.
What limits sustained throughput when an external GPU runs through the OCuLink SFF-8612 link at PCI-E 4.0 x4?
The link caps at 32 Gbps over four lanes using NVMe 1.2 protocol, so the PCI-E 4.0 x4 bandwidth ceiling is the first bottleneck under continuous load.
How much heat does the adapter board generate when an external graphics card draws full power all day?
The passive PCB only converts signals without active components, so it adds negligible heat; thermal load comes from the external GPU enclosure and its power supply.
