Vszerda PCI-E 4.0 M.2 to Oculink Adapter for ThinkBook 16+
Adds an OCuLink SFF-8612 port to 2022-2023 ThinkBook 16+ via the M.2 slot for external GPU or SSD at 32 Gbps
- Designed exclusively for 2022-2023 ThinkBook 16+ laptops
- Adds an OCuLink SFF-8612 port for external GPU or SSD
- Transmits PCIe 4.0 x4 signals at up to 32 Gbps
- Works transparently with NVMe 1.2 devices, no drivers needed
- 67-pin M.2 M-key male to OCuLink SFF-8612 female conversion
Compatibility limited to ThinkBook 16+
This adapter is built exclusively for 2022 and 2023 ThinkBook 16+ laptops. It connects to the internal M.2 M-key slot and provides one OCuLink SFF-8612 port for external devices. The design does not support ThinkBook 14+ or any other laptop model.
Direct slot fit with external cable needed
Installation uses the existing 67-pin M.2 Key M slot inside the laptop, requiring no drivers or software. An optional OCuLink cable and separate power source must be supplied by the user to complete the link to a graphics card or SSD. The adapter itself only converts the physical interface.
PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth sustained
The card passes PCI Express 4.0 x4 signals through the NVMe 1.2 protocol at up to 32 Gbps. Because the conversion is transparent to the operating system, throughput remains consistent during extended transfers or compute workloads rather than dropping after a short burst.

Questions about this item
How can I verify the adapter is passing PCI-E 4.0 x4 NVMe traffic after installing it in my ThinkBook 16+?
The operating system will see the connected NVMe drive or graphics card exactly as if it were plugged directly into the M.2 slot; check Device Manager or lspci for a PCIe 4.0 x4 link and run a storage benchmark to confirm speeds approaching 32 Gbps.
What comes in the box and which extra parts do I need to buy to run an external GPU or SSD?
Only the adapter board with its 67-pin M.2 Key M male connector and one SFF-8612 female port is included; you must purchase an OCuLink cable (SFF-8611 or SFF-8612) and a separate power supply for the external device.
My ThinkBook is a 14+ model — will the 2022-2023 16+ version work if I swap the M.2 bracket?
No, the adapter is designed exclusively for the 2022-2023 ThinkBook 16+ and is not compatible with the 14+ or any other laptop; choose this version only if you own that exact model.
