What this cable does and who needs it

This 6.6ft Thunderbolt 4 cable delivers 40Gbps bandwidth and 240W power delivery for creators connecting 8K or dual 4K displays, eGPUs and high-speed storage. It suits professionals who need full Thunderbolt 4 performance over a two-metre reach.

Practical limits of the Thunderbolt 4 interface

Thunderbolt 4 caps data at 40Gbps and video at one 8K 60Hz or two 4K 60Hz streams; dual 4K requires two separate cables. USB 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.2 devices work but fall back to their own lower speeds. DP Alt Mode is mandatory on the host port for any video output.

Installation ease and common pitfalls

Plug the male-to-male connectors into compatible ports; no driver install is needed. The braided jacket survives 49,000 bends and the zinc-alloy shell dissipates heat. Full 240W charging only activates when both charger and device support PD 3.1 EPR; otherwise power negotiates down to 140W or 180W.
