Internal USB-C header adapter
This adapter card converts a motherboard 19-pin USB 3.0 header into a 20-pin Key A internal USB-C connector. It is intended for PC builders adding a front-panel USB-C port to a case that requires the Key A interface. The board plugs directly into the existing header without extra cabling. No external ports or cables are included in the package.
Adds Key A front-panel support
The bundled card provides the 20-pin Key A socket needed by many modern front-panel USB-C ports. It bridges USB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 Gen 1/Gen 2 signalling as well as legacy USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. The adapter does not increase the bandwidth of the original 19-pin header. Builders with Key E front-panel connectors cannot use this card.
Simple header installation
Installation consists of aligning the 19-pin plug with the motherboard header and pressing firmly until seated. The keyed design prevents reversed insertion. The most common issue is confusion between Key A and Key E front-panel connectors; verify the case manual before purchasing. No drivers or BIOS changes are required for the adapter itself.

Questions about this item
Does the 19-pin header to 20-pin Key A adapter card need any firmware updates or jumper changes over time?
No firmware or jumpers are present; the card is a passive PCB that routes the existing header signals to the Key A connector.
Which speed ceiling appears first when the internal Type-C 20-pin Key A port runs sustained transfers?
The 19-pin USB 3.0 header limits throughput to 5 Gbit/s even though the Key A port can handle USB 3.1/3.2 Gen 2.
How much heat or noise does the adapter card produce during all-day operation?
The passive design has no active components, so it generates no audible noise and negligible heat under continuous use.
