Desktop USB 3.0 extension with stand

The Vszerda USB 3.0 extension cable adds a weighted pedestal base that sits on a desk, turning a rear-panel port into an accessible front connection. It is suited for home or office users who frequently swap flash drives, card readers, keyboards, mice, webcams or external hard drives and want to avoid reaching behind a tower or monitor. The 10FT length provides generous reach across a typical workstation.

5Gbps bandwidth with USB 2.0 fallback

The link operates at up to 5Gbps, roughly ten times the 480Mbps ceiling of USB 2.0, so large file transfers from external drives or high-resolution webcam streams move quickly. The cable remains backward compatible with USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 devices, ensuring older peripherals still function, albeit at their native speeds. Bandwidth will saturate only with sustained high-throughput workloads such as multiple simultaneous drive transfers.

Passive cable draws minimal power

As a passive copper extension, the cable adds negligible resistance and draws no external power, so thermals and noise are effectively non-existent in normal use. The 6.9 ounce base keeps the connector stable without requiring a separate power adapter. Power delivery follows the host port specification, so attached devices receive the same current they would from a direct connection.

Questions about this item

Will the 5Gbps USB 3.0 extension cable work with my older USB 2.0 flash drives and mouse?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 devices, so older peripherals will function at their native speeds.

How can I confirm the cable is delivering USB 3.0 speeds after I plug it in?

Check the transfer rate in your operating system's device manager or run a file copy to a USB 3.0 flash drive; speeds approaching 5Gbps indicate the link is operating at USB 3.0.

Does the package include only the 10FT extension cable with pedestal base, or do I need to buy a separate power adapter?

The box contains one 10‑foot USB 3.0 desktop base extension cable; no external power adapter is required or included.
