Two-metre 90-degree USB-C extension

This two-metre USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 male-to-female cable extends the reach of a host port by ninety degrees. It is aimed at users who need extra length for an external SSD, eGPU or monitor without stressing the laptop socket. The pack contains two identical black cables with gold-plated connectors and a nylon-braided jacket.

Thermals noise and power draw

The cable supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 up to 50 volts at 5 amps for a maximum of 240 watts, and is backward compatible with 100, 96, 87, 61, 60, 30, 18 and 15 watt adapters. As a passive copper assembly it generates no audible noise and adds negligible heat during charging or data transfers.

Bundled accessories and software

Two cables are supplied in the package; no male-to-male cable, driver disc or configuration utility is included. The gold-plated contacts and strain-relief collars improve insertion cycles and cable durability. Buyers who need a complete host-to-device link must provide their own USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3/4 male-to-male cable.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 90-degree USB-C male plug to my laptop and what step is often missed?

Plug the male end into the laptop's USB-C port that supports DP Alternate Mode, then attach a separate USB 3.2 male-to-male cable (not included) between the female end and your monitor or dock.

What part of the 2-metre braided cable is most likely to need replacement after heavy daily use?

The 24K gold-plated USB-C connectors and the nylon-braided jacket are built for long bend life; if wear appears it will be at the strain-relief collar near either plug.

At what point does the 20 Gbps data rate drop below its maximum during sustained transfers?

The 20 Gbps ceiling only holds when both host and device run USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB4 or Thunderbolt 3/4; any slower port on either side immediately limits the link.
