Cable length and speed rating

This two-metre USB-C extension cable carries an 80 Gbps data rate and supports Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. It uses a male-to-female layout with 24-pin connectors to extend existing cables or hubs without reducing bandwidth. The gold-plated contacts and triple-shielded coaxial construction preserve signal integrity over the full length.

Host and device port check

Verify that both the host port and the peripheral port are USB-C and that the host can deliver the required power profile for your device. The cable carries an E-Marker chip that negotiates PD 3.1 and QC 4.0 automatically, so the source and sink must support those protocols for 240 W charging. Ensure the combined cable run stays within the two-metre limit of this extender.

Replaces shorter or slower cables

This extender upgrades shorter passive cables that cannot sustain 80 Gbps or 240 W over distance. The jump is worth it when you need to route a connection behind furniture, across a VR play area, or between a laptop dock and a high-resolution display without signal loss. It also supersedes older 40 Gbps extenders when driving single 16K@60 Hz or dual 8K@60 Hz monitors.

Questions about this item

Does the 2 m cable arrive ready to use or do I need extra adapters?

The cable is a complete male-to-female USB-C extension with 24-pin connectors and an integrated E-Marker chip, so it works immediately with no additional parts required.

Should I pick the 80 Gbps version or a lower-speed cable for my Thunderbolt 5 dock?

Choose this 80 Gbps model; it matches Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth and remains fully backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 devices.

Will the 240 W rating actually charge my gaming laptop at full speed through the extension?

Yes, the cable supports PD 3.1 at 48 V / 5 A, delivering the full 240 W to compatible laptops while the E-Marker chip handles power negotiation and safety protection.
