USB4 cable 1 m 40 Gbps 240 W 8K

This is a USB4 cable with USB-C connectors on both ends. It is built for users who need 40 Gbps data transfer, up to 240 W power delivery and 8K video output from a single 1 m cable.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Suits owners of Thunderbolt 4 or 3 laptops, docks, eGPUs and high-speed SSDs that can use 40 Gbps and 240 W. Not for devices limited to 10 Gbps USB 3.2, for ports that only deliver 5 V, or for setups needing a longer reach than 3.3 ft.

The spec that decides fit

The cable delivers 40 Gbps throughput and 240 W charging only when both host and peripheral support USB4 or Thunderbolt 4/3 with 48 V 5 A power profiles; otherwise it falls back to lower USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 or 2.0 speeds and standard power levels.

Questions about this item

Does this cable require a USB-C PD charger rated for 48 V 5 A to deliver 240 W charging?

Yes, the cable supports up to 240 W charging only when paired with a compatible charger supplying 48 V 5 A over USB-C Power Delivery.

Will this cable work with my older Thunderbolt 3 dock and USB 3.2 Gen 2 SSD?

The cable is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.2, USB 3.1, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Type-C devices, so it will function with both.

How can I verify the cable is operating at 40 Gbps after connecting it?

Connect a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 storage device and run a large file transfer; sustained throughput near 5 GB/s confirms the 40 Gbps link is active.
