The VXDIAG VCX Nano GM is a test and measurement device built for diagnosing engine, transmission, ABS and instrument panel faults. It also handles ECU, BCM and PCM programming and configuration tasks. Workshops and technicians working on Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Buick, Hummer, Opel and Saab models from 2000 to 2020 will find it covers their core diagnostic needs. It does not support Holden vehicles.

Software Installation and Setup

Software is supplied as a free download rather than on a disc; GDS2, Tech2Win and the VX Manager 1.8.4 driver must be installed manually. The installer requires antivirus to be disabled and at least 4 GB of ROM available. Tech2Win runs only on a 32-bit operating system and will not install on Home edition Windows. Online technical support is available to assist with the process.

Protocol Coverage and Limitations

The interface complies with SAE-J2534-1 and SAE-J2534-2 pass-through standards and communicates over CAN, UART, KW2000, Class2 and GM LAN protocols. GDS2 provides Opel and Saab coverage while Tech2Win does not support those brands for the 2000 to 2010 period. The tool cannot address vehicles outside the listed makes and model years.
