Professional Foil Shaver for Barbers

The Wahl 5 Star Vanish 8173-700 is a cordless foil shaver built for professional barbering and grooming. Its independent suspension cutting system with micro-thin gold foils contours closely to the face, scalp and neck for ultra-close finishing and bald fade cleanup. A premium lithium-ion battery delivers over 100 minutes of runtime. An LED fuel gauge on the front provides clear charge monitoring during busy sessions.

Suited for Detail Work, Not Bulk Removal

This shaver suits barbers and stylists who need precision finishing, irritation-reducing close shaves and all-day ergonomic comfort with finger grips and travel lock protection. The pop-out individual foil cartridges allow single-foil replacement, saving time and money on maintenance. It is not designed for heavy bulk hair removal or clipper work; users needing to cut longer hair lengths should look at a dedicated clipper or trimmer instead.

Dual Voltage and Lightweight Build

The unit operates on dual voltage for worldwide use and weighs 0.9000 units for lightweight handling. This combination supports mobile barbers and frequent travellers who need consistent performance across different regions without a voltage converter. Buyers requiring a specific voltage-only device or a heavier, stationary unit should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Does the Wahl 5 Star Vanish 8173-700 need a power outlet to run, or is it fully cordless?

It runs on a built-in lithium-ion battery and provides over 100 minutes of cordless runtime per charge.

Can I keep using my existing Wahl foil cartridges with the Vanish 8173-700?

The Vanish uses new independent pop-out foil bars that are replaced individually, so older full-head cartridges are not compatible.

How do I know the shaver is charged and ready before a busy day of cuts?

A large LED fuel gauge on the front shows the exact charge level so you can confirm it is ready to go.
