A 240 V heated mat measuring 240 in by 36 in by .25 in melts snow on walkways and driveways with 50 watts per square foot and a 20 ft cold lead
This 240-volt heating mat is designed to clear snow and ice from residential walkways, patios and driveways. It suits homeowners who want an automated alternative to manual shovelling or chemical de-icers. The low-profile construction allows it to be embedded in asphalt, concrete or beneath pavers. It is not suited for indoor flooring or roof de-icing applications.
The mat uses a twin-conductor heating element in a serpentine pattern on a polypropylene mesh backing for even heat distribution. A 20-foot cold lead connects the mat to the control system without adding heat in the transition zone. The assembly requires a dedicated 240-volt circuit and a compatible snow-melt controller, neither of which are included. It does not function as a standalone plug-in appliance.
The system delivers 50 watts per square foot of heated area for consistent melting performance. CSA certification covers outdoor use in both U.S. and Canadian markets. The corrosion-resistant element is built to withstand freeze-thaw cycles within the surrounding slab. Operational noise is silent and power draw scales directly with the total area installed.
