Industrial 2D Barcode Scanner

The Wasp WDI7500 is a rugged 2D barcode scanner designed for warehousing, transportation, logistics and manufacturing environments. It reads popular 1D and 2D codes omnidirectionally from contact to over 3.3 ft depending on barcode resolution. A four-dot aiming system and liquid lens technology enable fast, accurate scans at varying distances. Green Spot technology provides visual good-read feedback for the operator.

Suits High-Volume Harsh Environments

This scanner suits operations that require reliable scanning in extreme temperatures, dusty or wet conditions, and areas where drops onto concrete are frequent. Its IP65 sealing and 6.6 ft drop rating protect the imager in demanding industrial workflows. Buyers who need a basic office scanner or a customer-facing presentation device should look at lighter-duty models instead.

Simple USB Deployment

The unit connects via USB for straightforward integration with existing point-of-sale or warehouse management systems. No complex configuration is required for standard 1D and 2D symbologies. The ergonomic pistol grip reduces fatigue during all-day use. The main installation issue occurs when host software expects proprietary data formatting that the scanner does not output by default.

Questions about this item

Does the WDI7500 need a USB port on my PC to operate?

Yes, the scanner connects by USB and draws power from the same cable, so a free USB port is required.

Will the omnidirectional imager read barcodes printed on labels that my older laser scanner misses?

The omnidirectional imager reads 1D and 2D codes from any angle, including damaged or poorly printed labels that a laser scanner may reject.

How do I confirm a scan succeeded without looking at the screen?

The Green Spot projects a green dot on the code and the scanner beeps, giving immediate visual and audible confirmation of a good read.
