Lead-Free Brass Valve Construction
This Watts pressure reducing valve is built from lead-free brass and designed for potable water systems. The 1-1/2 inch FNPT union connections suit residential and light-commercial plumbing. It meets ASSE 1003, ANSI A112.26.2, CSA B356 and IAPMO standards.
Factory Preset with Adjustable Range
The valve ships preset at 50 psi and can be adjusted between 25 and 75 psi to match supply conditions. An integrated strainer helps protect downstream fixtures from debris. Maximum rated pressure is 300 psi and maximum temperature is 160 degrees F.
Threaded Union Limits and Code Compliance
The FNPT union ends require compatible threaded pipe or adapters; they do not accept press-fit or sweat connections. The valve complies with Standard Plumbing Code and military specification MIL-V-18146B Type 1 for approved installations.

Questions about this item
Will the 1-1/2 inch FNPT union ends thread onto my existing copper pipes?
The valve uses FNPT union connections on both ends, so you will need matching male NPT threads or appropriate transition fittings for copper.
How can I verify the valve is regulating pressure to the 50 psi preset after installation?
Install a pressure gauge downstream, open a fixture, and confirm the reading settles near 50 psi; the adjustment range is 25 to 75 psi if tuning is needed.
Does the package include the union tailpieces or must I buy them separately?
The valve ships with the integral FNPT union ends and a built-in strainer; no separate tailpieces are required for a standard threaded installation.
