Industrial 8-Channel Relay Module
The WaveShare Modbus PoE Ethernet Relay provides eight independently controlled channels for switching AC or DC loads. Each relay is rated at 10A 250VAC or 30VDC, allowing direct control of mains appliances or lower-voltage equipment. The module communicates over a single PoE port using Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP protocols and supports TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, UDP Multicast, HTTP and MQTT modes. An onboard optocoupler isolates the control logic from the switched circuits.
Suited for automation and remote-switching tasks
This unit fits engineers building Modbus-based SCADA systems, IoT gateways or home-automation projects that need reliable Ethernet-connected relay control. The wide 7–36V DC input and IEEE 802.3 af PoE compliance simplify power distribution in cabinets or DIN-rail enclosures. Buyers who require more than eight channels, need analogue outputs, or must use a fieldbus other than Modbus over Ethernet should look at alternative I/O modules.
Eight channels with 10A contact rating
The eight relays comfortably handle resistive loads up to 10A at 250VAC or 30VDC, covering typical lighting, heating and small-motor circuits. Each channel offers both normally-open and normally-closed contacts for flexible wiring. The flash-on and flash-off function enables timed pulses without external timers. Headroom ends at the 10A per-channel limit; inductive loads or inrush currents beyond this rating will require external contactors or solid-state relays.

Questions about this item
What DC power source is needed if I don't use PoE?
The module accepts DC 7–36 V through the 5.5 × 2.1 mm jack or the screw terminals.
Can I keep my existing 220 VAC appliances on the relay contacts?
Yes, each contact is rated 10 A at 250 VAC, so 220 VAC loads are within specification.
How do I verify the module is communicating after wiring it?
Watch the four status LEDs and the network indicators; they show MCU state and signal traffic.
