Four-Bay SATA Enclosure with 10 Gbps USB-C

The Wavlink RapidFire H4-K35284A is a four-bay aluminium enclosure that accepts 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA hard drives and SSDs. A USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C host port delivers up to 10 Gbps for fast file transfers and backups across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, Harmony OS and iPad OS hosts. Built-in temperature-controlled fans keep drives cool during sustained workloads.

Suits multi-drive workflows.

Creative professionals and data-hoarders who need simultaneous access to several high-capacity SATA drives will benefit from the four independent bays and the extra USB-C port for daisy-chaining up to three enclosures. Users who only require one external drive should consider a simpler single-bay dock. Buyers needing hardware RAID must look elsewhere because the enclosure does not support RAID arrays.

88 TB total capacity across four bays

Each bay supports SATA 6 Gbit/s drives up to 22 TB, giving a combined ceiling of 88 TB when fully populated. The HDMI 1.4 output can drive a 4K display at 60 Hz, but only when the host USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable is used. Drives spin down automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Questions about this item

How fast will file transfers actually run once the enclosure is connected to my computer?

The USB 3.2 Type-C port supports up to 10Gbps, but real-world speed depends on the host port standard and the SATA 6Gbit/s drives installed.

What does the HDMI port require to output 4K@60Hz video?

The host USB-C port must support video output under DP1.4 and you must use the supplied USB-C to C cable; the USB-C to A cable will not carry video.

Can I mount 2.5-inch drives directly in the four bays?

Each bay is sized for 3.5-inch drives; 2.5-inch drives need separate 2.5-to-3.5 mounting brackets, which are not included.
