Outdoor AX3000 Range Extender

The Wavlink WL-WN573HX3 is a WiFi 6 wireless range extender and media bridge built for permanent outdoor installation. Its IP67-rated enclosure withstands rain, snow and dust while four 8 dBi omnidirectional fiberglass antennas push coverage across yards, farms or campgrounds. The unit supports AP, repeater, mesh router and mesh extender modes for flexible network topologies.

Environmental resilience and power

Operating from -30 °C to 70 °C, the extender includes 15 kV ESD and 6 kV lightning protection for reliable service in storms. It draws power through a 54 V passive PoE injector or 802.3 af/at active PoE, so no local mains socket is required at the mounting point. The PoE converter itself must remain indoors and the Ethernet run should not exceed 100 m using CAT5e or better cable.

Sustained multi-device load

Under continuous demand the radio serves up to 256 associated clients with aggregate throughput of 3000 Mbps (573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz plus 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz). MU-MIMO and beamforming keep 128 simultaneous streams stable across the coverage area. Mesh interoperability is confirmed with WN586X3, WN572HP3 on current firmware and other WN573HX3 units for larger deployments.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the WL-WN573HX3 outdoors and what is the step installers often miss?

Mount the unit 2 to 3 metres above ground using the supplied screws and cable ties; the step often missed is keeping the PoE converter indoors because it is not waterproof.

What maintenance will the antennas and seals need over time?

The four 8 dBi fiberglass omnidirectional antennas are built for long service life; periodically check the IP67 enclosure seals and cable glands for debris or damage after severe weather.

What is the first limit reached when many devices connect continuously?

The extender supports up to 256 associated devices, with 128 simultaneous connections on the 5 GHz band before MU-MIMO scheduling becomes the bottleneck.
