Compact M.2 2280 SSD heatsink for desktop builders

The weastlinks Cooler II fits M.2 2280 NVME drives such as Samsung 860, 960, 970 and 980 series. It mounts directly on the module without a fan, using a magnesium-aluminum alloy body with an anodised finish and a silver-plated surface that helps eliminate static electricity. A thermal silicone pad transfers heat from the controller and NAND to the heatsink. Twenty bottom air holes and striped fins increase the dissipation area.

Passive cooling under sustained write loads

Without active airflow the heatsink relies on its 237 W/mK thermal conductivity and enlarged surface area to absorb prolonged thermal energy. The supplier rates the cooling effect at 10 to 30 degrees Celsius depending on case airflow and ambient conditions. This passive approach prevents throttling during long file transfers or heavy workloads where a burst cooler would saturate. No moving parts means zero wear over time.

Silent operation with minimal power impact

The unit adds no fan noise and draws no electricity, keeping the system acoustics unchanged. Its 75 by 22.7 by 15 millimetre footprint fits tight motherboard layouts while the anodised magnesium-aluminum construction resists corrosion and maintains hardness. Builders who need active forced-air cooling or liquid-loop integration should look elsewhere, as this cooler is purely conductive and convective.
