Replacement Grill for Smokey Joe

This genuine Weber part replaces the HDWE with legs on Smokey Joe grills produced between 1993 and 1998. It fits 11 Weber models including Smokey Joe Gold, Smokey Joe Silver, Homer Simpson Smokey Joe and Tuck N Carry variants. The part also fits Thermos model 10001. It is sold as a single unit under part number 97790.

Simple bolt-on installation

The component mounts directly onto the existing grill frame using the original hardware locations. No cutting, drilling or special tools are required for the swap. The most common issue is corrosion on the old mounting bolts, which can make removal difficult. Applying penetrating oil beforehand helps prevent stripped threads or broken fasteners.

Verify your model and year

Confirm that your Smokey Joe was manufactured before 2000 and matches one of the listed model numbers such as 10001, 10009, 10010, 10020, 10898 or 40020. Grills made after 1998 or carrying a different model designation will not accept this part. Check the rating plate on the kettle before ordering.
