Carpet seam binder for surface preparation

This 8-inch diameter wire wheel uses 0.0140-inch steel wire to clean rust, scale and dirt from carpet seams and metal surfaces. Flexible brushing action suits light deburring, edge blending and roughening for adhesion. It mounts on straight, bench or right-angle grinders with a 5/8-inch arbor. Maximum operating speed is 6000 rpm.

For installers needing flexible wire brushing

Suits tradespeople preparing seams for binding or cleaning metal before plating or painting. Not for buyers who need aggressive stock removal or a non-metallic abrasive. Not for tools that cannot accept a 5/8-inch arbor or that exceed 6000 rpm.

0.0140-inch steel wire diameter

The fine 0.0140-inch wire size determines the brushing aggression and finish quality. Choose this specification when light cleaning and surface preparation are required rather than heavy material removal.

Questions about this item

Will the 5/8 in arbor fit the spindle on my older bench grinder?

The binder has a 5/8 in arbor diameter and a 1/2 in face plate thickness, matching standard bench and pedestal grinder spindles.

How can I confirm the wire brush is running true after mounting it?

Run the grinder up to 6000 rpm max; the flexible steel wires should flare evenly without wobble, indicating true rotation.

Does the pack include mounting hardware or just the binder itself?

The pack contains one 8 in diameter binder with .0140 in steel wire; no flanges, nuts or adapters are included.
