What This Brush Does

The Weiler STBA-432 is a 4-inch stainless-steel knot wire wheel built for aggressive weld cleaning and heavy surface preparation. Its narrow 3/16-inch face reaches tight corners and fillet welds where wider wheels cannot fit. The M10 x 1.25 arbor threads directly onto compatible straight or right-angle grinders.

Mounting And Break-In

Thread the wheel onto the grinder spindle until the face plate seats firmly against the mounting flange. Run the tool at no load for thirty seconds to confirm true running before contacting the workpiece. Excessive side pressure fractures knots prematurely and reduces the effective trim length of 7/8 inch.

Speed And Material Limits

The 20,000 rpm maximum rating is a hard ceiling; exceeding it risks knot ejection and wheel disintegration. Stainless-steel wire prevents carbon contamination on stainless alloys but wears faster on hardened steels than carbon-steel alternatives. The wheel removes rust, paint, oxides and scale but is not designed for precision deburring or finishing soft non-ferrous metals.
