This Weinandianzi camera module uses a 1/3.2-inch IMX179 CMOS sensor to deliver 8 MP still images at 3264 x 2448 resolution. It connects via USB2.0 and is UVC-compliant for plug-and-play operation on Windows, Android, Linux and Mac OS. The board measures 38 mm x 38 mm and includes a 1.0 metre cable, making it suited to surveillance, 3D printer monitoring and object recognition tasks.

Passive thermals with low power draw

The module draws power directly from the USB2.0 bus with no external supply required. Its electronic rolling shutter and compact PCB generate minimal heat during typical 15 fps or 30 fps capture. No active cooling or fan is present, so acoustic noise is effectively zero in normal indoor use.

Autofocus and microphone extend utility

Autofocus adjusts from millimetre-range subjects to distant objects without manual lens tools. A built-in digital microphone adds synchronised audio to video streams.
