USB 2.0 Camera Module for Embedded Builds

This Weinandianzi AX-720P-V3_120 module delivers a 1280x720 video stream through a standard USB 2.0 interface. The OV9732 sensor provides one million pixels in a compact 38 mm square board. UVC compliance makes it drive-free on Windows and Android systems. It suits developers adding vision to kiosks, robots or test rigs.

120-Degree Fixed-Focus Field of View

The wide 120-degree lens captures a broad scene without mechanical focus adjustment. Fixed focus keeps the optical path simple and vibration resistant. MJPG and YUY2 output formats give flexibility for bandwidth or latency sensitive pipelines. Frame rates stay steady during long captures because there is no auto-focus hunting.

Low Power Thermal Profile

USB 2.0 bus power limits current draw so the board runs cool without a heatsink. The 1 metre cable routes away from sensitive electronics while carrying both data and power. No fan or active cooling is required in normal indoor operation. Silent running suits noise-sensitive environments such as labs or recording booths.

Questions about this item

How much heat or power draw should I expect from the OV9732 module when it runs continuously over USB 2.0?

The module draws power directly from the USB 2.0 port and uses a fixed-focus 1/4-inch OV9732 sensor, so heat output stays low during all-day streaming at 1280x720.

What host connector and operating-system support do I already need to use the 4-pin USB 2.0 interface?

A standard USB 2.0 Type-A port and any UVC-compatible system — Windows or Android — will recognise the module without extra drivers.

Will the 120-degree fixed-focus lens work alongside my older 720p webcam that has autofocus?

Yes, both devices appear as separate UVC cameras; the OV9732 module keeps its 120-degree fixed view while the older autofocus unit handles close-ups.
