Compatible MacBook models

This PU leather folio case is built exclusively for the previous-generation MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch without USB-C or CD-ROM, model A1398. The case dimensions are 14.3 x 9.9 x 0.8 inch, matching the laptop's 14.13 x 9.73 x 0.71 inch profile. Magnetic closure keeps the device secure while all ports remain accessible through precise cut-outs. You can operate the MacBook without removing the cover.

Who this suits and who it does not

Owners of the A1398 MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch who want a protective sleeve that stays on during use will find this case fits exactly. Buyers with any other MacBook model, including later USB-C versions or different screen sizes, cannot use this case because the dimensions and port cut-outs will not align.

Deciding specification

The model number A1398 printed on the bottom of the MacBook is the only specification that confirms compatibility. Verify this number before purchase; the case will not fit any other model.

Questions about this item

How do I install the case on my MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch A1398, and what step do people often get wrong?

Align the MacBook with the case interior, then snap the top and bottom shells onto the 14.13 x 9.73 x .71 inch chassis; the step people miss is verifying the model number A1398 on the bottom before fitting, because the 14.3 x 9.9 x .8 inch case only fits that exact model

What maintenance or replacement will this PU leather sleeve need over time?

Wipe the PU leather with a damp cloth when it shows wear; the magnetic closure may weaken after repeated opening, so replace the sleeve if the lid no longer stays shut securely

What limit appears first during sustained daily use of this fitted case?

The tight .8 inch case clearance around the .71 inch MacBook leaves minimal airflow space, so surface temperature rises noticeably during prolonged heavy workloads
