Yellow cartridge for Brother printers

The West Point 117426 is a new yellow inkjet cartridge rated for approximately 600 pages. It replaces Brother OEM part numbers LC-71Y, LC-75Y and LC-1240Y in compatible MFC models. Buyers who want a lower-cost alternative to the original supplies for colour printing will find this high-yield unit fits the same slot.

Upgrade from standard-yield LC-71/LC-75 cartridges

Standard Brother cartridges in the LC-71 and LC-75 families typically deliver fewer pages before replacement. Switching to this 600-page yellow cartridge makes sense when print volumes are high enough that fewer change-outs save time and reduce waste. It is not for users who print only occasional colour pages and would not use the extra capacity before the ink dries.

Check your Brother MFC model before ordering

Confirm the printer is one of the listed MFC-J models such as 280W, 425W, 430W, 435W, 5910DW, 625W, 6510DW, 6710DW, 6910DW, 825DW or 835DW. Verify the machine currently uses an LC-71Y, LC-75Y or LC-1240Y yellow cartridge. This product does not fit printers that require different Brother cartridge series.

Questions about this item

Which Brother printers accept the West Point 117426 yellow cartridge?

It fits MFC-J280W, MFC-J425W, MFC-J430W, MFC-J435W, MFC-J5910DW, MFC-J625W, MFC-J6510DW, MFC-J6710DW, MFC-J6910DW, MFC-J825DW and MFC-J835DW.

What is the correct way to insert the cartridge so the chip contacts align?

Remove the orange protective clip, shake gently, then slide the cartridge straight into the yellow slot until it clicks; forcing it at an angle bends the contact pins.

When should I expect to replace this 600-page high-yield yellow cartridge?

Replace it when prints show faded yellow or the printer reports low ink; typical life is around 600 pages at standard coverage.
