Westclox 70045 Digital Alarm Clock

The Westclox 70045 is a battery-operated digital clock with a large LCD display and on-demand blue backlight. It suits anyone who wants a clear time check at night without a glowing screen. The silver finish and compact 6.1 in x 2.2 in x 4.7 in footprint fit a bedside table or travel bag. It runs on three AAA batteries, which are not included.

Display Capacity and Limits

The screen shows time, month, date and indoor temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. You get a full calendar readout plus ambient temperature at a glance. There is no projection, no humidity sensor and no outdoor remote probe. The backlight activates only when you press the button, so it stays dark until you need it.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The clock draws power solely from three AAA cells, so it generates no noticeable heat and makes no fan noise. A soft ascending alarm sounds for five minutes before repeating. There is no AC adapter, no mains hum and no warm-up period. Battery life will vary with backlight use and alarm volume.

Questions about this item

Can I run the Westclox 70045 alongside my older plug-in clock without needing an outlet?

Yes, this model runs on three AAA batteries so it does not compete for a wall socket with your existing clock.

How do I confirm the blue backlight activates correctly after I insert the batteries?

Press the backlight button in a dark room; the display should glow with a soft blue light that turns off automatically after a few seconds.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy batteries separately?

The box contains the silver digital clock and its manual; three AAA batteries are required but not included.
