20-pack 8 TB surveillance drives

Check SATA ports and bay count

Verify that your recorder or server has enough free SATA 6.0Gb/s ports and physical 3.5-inch drive bays before ordering. Each unit measures 1.03 inches high, 4.00 inches long and 5.79 inches wide, so confirm rack or chassis clearance matches those dimensions.

Fits multi-bay NVRs and storage servers

The drives slot directly into standard 3.5-inch trays and connect via SATA cables, requiring no special controllers. Deploying twenty drives at once fills a large array in a single step, freeing you from staging multiple smaller shipments.

Questions about this item

What comes in the 20-pack and do I need to buy cables or mounting hardware separately?

The box contains twenty WD8001PURP 8 TB drives; SATA data and power cables plus 3.5" mounting screws are not included and must be sourced separately.

All twenty drives are identical 8 TB 7200 RPM units — is there any capacity or speed choice to make?

Every drive in the pack is the same 8 TB, 7200 RPM, 256 MB cache model; there are no alternative capacities or speeds to select within this SKU.

What does the 7200 RPM rating mean for real-world video-surveillance recording?

The 7200 RPM spindle speed combined with 256 MB cache supports sustained write throughput needed for multiple high-definition camera streams on a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface.
