Flexible joint knife for finishing work

The Westward 13A704 is a flexible joint knife designed for spreading and smoothing compound on drywall and plaster surfaces. Its tapered carbon-steel blade and wooden handle suit professional finishers and DIY users who need controlled feathering on joints and corners.

Six-inch flexible carbon-steel blade

The blade measures six inches wide and 4 1/4 inches long with a straight edge and tapered profile. Full-tang construction and a non-replaceable, non-retractable design keep the thin, flexible blade stable while it conforms to uneven surfaces.

Consistent flex under sustained pressure

Carbon steel holds a uniform bend during long smoothing passes instead of springing back like stiffer blades. The wood handle absorbs vibration and stays comfortable through extended sessions, reducing fatigue when working large wall areas.

Questions about this item

How does the 6 in blade width perform when spreading joint compound on drywall?

The 6 in carbon steel blade covers wide seams in fewer passes, and its flexible taper lets you feather edges smoothly without gouging the surface.

What does the full tang construction mean for handle durability?

A full tang runs the blade steel through the entire wooden handle, so the joint cannot loosen or snap under heavy pressure.

Will the 8 1/4 in overall length fit in a standard tool pouch?

At just over 8 in total, the knife slides into most drywall pouches or belt holsters without protruding.
