Cornerbead Clincher with Mallet

The Westward 13A765 is a two-piece hand tool set built for drywall and plastering work. It combines a clincher and a matching mallet to help installers secure cornerbead profiles quickly on job sites.

Precision-Ground Teeth and Cast Aluminium Body

The clincher uses precision-ground teeth cut into a cast aluminium frame to grip and crimp bead edges. A rubber mallet with a wood handle supplies the striking force, while the steel handle on the clincher resists bending during repeated use.

Manual Operation with No Compressor Required

The set works entirely by hand, so no air compressor or power source is needed on site. Its 13-1/2 inch length and 3 inch width limit reach on tall walls, and the tool is restricted from sale in California due to Proposition 65 chemical warnings.

Questions about this item

Will the clincher fit the 13-1/2 inch cornerbead I already have on site?

The tool is built for 13-1/2 inch overall length and 3 inch width, matching standard cornerbead of that size.

How do I know the precision-ground teeth are gripping correctly after the first few strikes?

A clean, uniform crimp along the full bead edge with no slipping or tearing shows the teeth are engaging properly.

Does the set come with the mallet or do I need to buy a separate rubber mallet?

The two-piece package includes both the cast aluminium clincher and the rubber mallet, so nothing else is required.
