A 24-inch masonry drill bit with a 7/8-inch diameter and straight shank for deep-hole drilling
The Westward 22UV34 is a straight masonry drill bit designed for creating 7/8 inch diameter holes in brick, block, and concrete. Its 24 inch overall length provides extended reach for deep drilling tasks. The bright uncoated finish is suitable for general purpose masonry work. This accessory fits standard chucks with a matching 7/8 inch shank diameter.
This 24 inch bit replaces shorter masonry drills when the maximum drilling depth of 4 inches must be reached through thick walls or from a distance. The jump is worth it for through-bolting, anchor installation, or conduit pathways where standard length bits cannot reach the target depth. It eliminates the need for bit extensions that can reduce drilling accuracy and torque transfer.
The straight shank design fits directly into drill chucks that accept a 7/8 inch diameter, requiring no special adapters or SDS systems. The long body clears obstacles such as studs, insulation, or existing pipework during deep hole drilling. Bright uncoated surfaces allow easy inspection for wear or damage before each use on the job site.

The bit has a 7/8 in shank diameter and a 24 in overall length, so the chuck must open to at least 7/8 in and accommodate the full length.
Use a centre punch to mark the spot, then apply steady pressure at low speed until the tip bites; the common error is skipping the punch mark and letting the bit wander.
Replace it when the carbide tip shows rounded cutting edges, the flutes are clogged with hardened dust, or the shank develops visible wear from chuck grip.
