Throat depth limits reach on wide workpieces

The 4 1/8 in. throat depth sets the practical limit for how far the clamp can reach from the edge of a workpiece. Wider assemblies will exceed this reach, forcing you to reposition or choose a deeper-throat tool. The 6 in. maximum opening also caps the thickest material you can clamp in a single setup. Both dimensions are fixed by the forged frame and cannot be extended.

6600 lb rating handles structural joints

This capacity comfortably handles structural glue-ups, frame assembly and heavy fabrication where high clamping force is required. The forged body and coarse-thread spindle transmit force without flex under normal shop loads.
