Cuts UNC threads in a 1/2"-13 hole using a four-flute high-speed steel plug tap
The Westward 2LWJ6 is a straight flute hand tap designed to cut unified coarse threads in a 1/2 inch diameter hole. It suits maintenance technicians and machinists who need to create new internal threads or repair damaged ones by hand.
The tap conforms to an H5 thread limit and features a plug chamfer with four flutes. This geometry provides a moderate starting taper that guides the tool into the hole while the four flutes offer balanced chip clearance for general-purpose threading in through or blind holes.
Manufactured from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, the tap resists wear during manual threading operations. The right hand cutting direction matches standard UNC fasteners, and the overall length of 3 3/8 inches with a thread length of 1 21/32 inches fits standard tap wrenches.

Yes, the tap is made from high-speed steel and cuts UNC threads, so it works with holes drilled by standard HSS bits of the correct diameter.
Check the finished threads with an H5-class UNC thread plug gauge; a go gauge should enter fully and a no-go gauge should not.
The package contains only the straight-flute hand tap; a tap wrench and the correct drill bit must be purchased separately.
