Cuts 1/8"-27 NPT threads in pipe and conduit using four-flute carbon-steel construction for clean, accurate results
This Westward pipe tap cuts internal NPT threads in pipe and conduit. The carbon steel construction provides strength for threading ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a taper design with four flutes for efficient chip evacuation. The tool is supplied in new condition.
The tap creates threads with a 3/4 inch thread length and an overall length of 2 1/8 inches. A drill size Q is needed to prepare the hole before tapping. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard pipe threading operations. The bright uncoated finish is ready for use with cutting fluid.
This tap is not intended for metric or straight thread applications. Users requiring different thread sizes, flute counts, or coated finishes should select an alternative tool. The specific 1/8"-27 NPT specification limits use to that standard only.

The thread length is 3/4 in, so threads up to that depth can be cut in one pass with the 4-flute carbon-steel tap.
Carbon steel conducts heat well; using cutting fluid keeps the 1/8"-27 NPT tap cool enough for continuous daily use.
A 75 percent thread drill size Q is required before starting the 1/8"-27 NPT threading operation.
